Best of Broadway "Tales of New York"

Come one come all to Adelphi University's Concert Hall! Adelphi's Music Department presents "Best of Broadway". This production is a mixer of music and theater majors and this year was a collaboration of songs from musicals all about New York. From Rent, 42nd Street, West Side Story and so many more these performers sang their heart and soul out and you can tell. I attend this performance every semester and each semester it gets better and better. The Performing Art Center students, or the PAC kids, are a family, we all share a passion for the fine arts. So it is no surprise when I say the audience was full. We all support each other. Theater majors go to dance and music performances and music and dance majors do the same for the theater majors. We all understand our livelihood depends on people seeing our shows.

I got my ticket "Student Rush" so it was free!

I said the audience was full but it wasn't all PAC kids. The arts are fully supported on Adelphi's campus. Many alumni, athletes, Greek life, and student's from all majors were there to support. The art's bring people together. Adelphi is a liberal arts college, meaning you, as a student, are required to take courses in an art. That doesn't mean drawing or painting it can mean any art; music, dance, drama, etc. Seeing these performances help you get a feel for which art best suits you. Also, attending musical performances gives you a great college moment to share with your friends back home or when telling people about your college experience in the future. College is what you make of it. How many people can say they have seen their friend and peer sing "Take me or Leave Me" from Rent. Well, now I can.
