AUPAC Theatre Department presents short plays by O'Neill and Williams.

The Theatre Department at Adelphi has a seasonal agenda of performances that you can find out more about on the AUPAC website or in one of the brochures you pick up when you visit the PAC (Performing Arts Centre). Why we call it a seasonal agenda is because our department is one that believes in experiential learning, especially since it's a B.F.A program. Faculty, staff and students in both the Acting and Tech departments work on all of the productions done by the Theatre Department as a collaborative effort. Students in the department audition every semester for the productions, through which they are able to expand their experiences in the field. Not to mention, the impressive additions to the résumés

To kick off this season of theatrical performances, directors: Maggie Lally and Marlee Koenigsberg showcased "An Evening of Short Plays by Eugene O'Neill and Tennessee Williams". The production ran from the 24th of February 2015 till the 1st of March 2015. For those of you aware of these playwrights, the program consisted of the following 4 plays:

  1. This Property Is Condemned (Tennessee Williams)
  2. The Web (Eugene O'Neill)
  3. Before Breakfast (Eugene O'Neill)
  4. Monny's Kid Don't Cry (Tennessee Williams)

It was an evening full of intense drama and emotion. Every single actor from the productions went their extra mile with research, in order to play their roles successfully and to do justice to themselves and the playwrights.

Also, on a side note, before any production starts the house management tells you to switch your phone off or to put it on silent. Let's be real here, silent works for us! They also tell you that photography/videography is strictly prohibited, but I guess I cheated.

This picture that I secretly managed to take, is from "Before Breakfast". Also, hi5 and props to our very own ambassador Scott Pero for a fantastic job in The Web. (sorry I tried sneaking a picture, but I clearly failed.) Swing by or call our Office of Admissions to schedule a tour and meet Scott or any of our theatre majors. Don't forget to check out the AUPAC website for this season's performances and guest artist shows at the PAC!!!
