Our Summer Ambassador Family: Sarah Gallo

Introducing our summer ambassador staff! These amazing students stick around for the summer and have the opportunity to represent Adelphi University as ambassadors who will help you find your home here at Adelphi.

Meet Sarah Gallo, a Sophomore Communication Sciences and Disorders major in the STEP program from Melville, NY.

  • What is your favorite spot on campus?
    • My favorite spot on campus is my residence hall because it is a great place to make new friends in your building and hang out (and make mac and cheese).
  • What is your favorite spot in the local area?
    • My favorite spot in the local area is the Lantern Diner -- it's a short walk from campus and is open 24/7. So, no matter what time it is I can always get sweet potato fries.
  • What are your favorite social and academic experiences that you have had at Adelphi?
    • Social: Joining Greek life -- finding a group of girls that I can call my sisters and who will always be there for me was absolutely life changing.
    • Academic: I was given the opportunity to have a Q&A with David Finkel, author of Thank You For Your Service. I love meeting authors and getting to hear about what inspired their writing.
  • Why did you choose Adelphi?
    • I chose to attend Adelphi because of their five year STEP program for teaching. I get to obtain my Bachelors and Masters in only five years rather than six! In addition, I get to experience the best of both worlds because Adelphi's distance from my house is enough that I get to live here, but also get to easily visit home!
  • What is a fun fact about yourself?
    • I'm actually allergic to dogs and cats :(
